Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance can be daunting at any stage in life. But it is my heartfelt mission is to be right there for every single client with empathy, compassion and respect to build a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. As a qualified counsellor at Distinction level, I work from a primarily Person-Centred/Humanistic approach, however, I also incorporate CBT, Gestalt and Existential models into sessions. Along with my counselling experience, I have a qualification in Behaviours that Challenge; giving me a more in-depth understanding of conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

I have worked with clients from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds, as well as clients with specific special educational needs including Autism and ADHD. All clients are warmly welcomed and treated with dignity and unconditional positive regard; no issue big or small is undeserving of my care and attention. Every counselling session with me is a truly unique experience; my therapy is catered completely to the individual, and I am committed to working pluralistically to meet the needs of every client. I have lots of experience working metaphorically and creatively in the form of art therapy, role play, stone/shell work etc.

My main area of expertise is working with children and adolescents having practiced across schools in the North East, as well as years spent working in the community. Through play therapy and other engaging activities, I am passionate about providing a safe space to explore their connections to both the people and the world around them. I have experience in counselling children and adolescents across a broad range of presenting issues including sexual abuse, self-harm, bereavement, bullying, depression, anxiety and more. I am fully trained in safeguarding procedures, and I am steadfast yet gentle in my approach to handling delicate issues – rest assured, your children are in safe and comforting hands.
