I began my Counselling training after becoming redundant from the Financial Services industry and subsequently experiencing the benefits first hand that counselling can give you.

During my counselling training I volunteered with Place2Be working one to one with Primary aged children and North East Counselling Services working with Adults. I then went on to volunteer with Durham Schools Counselling Services working in 2 Secondary Schools working one to one with Young People. During this time I also worked as a Youth Worker with Durham City Centre Youth Services, working with groups of vulnerable young people both in the Youth Centre in and around Durham City Centre.

I then began working with Next Step Psychotherapy and Wellbeing in 2 Primary Schools in County Durham alongside working privately with Adults, Children, Young People and Couples.

During this time I've mostly worked 1 to 1, however I have also provided group work and crisis work. I work closely with parents and carers wherever possible to encourage a holistic approach for the child or young person.

I then got promoted to Regional School Manager with Next Step working in 3 Primary Schools and also offering adult work. I have also manage and supervise other school therapists in and around the North East, I have a flexible approach, and work according the needs of the individual and school. However my core model is person centred, empowering the to lead their therapy in the direction they need.

I am passionate about children and young peoples emotional and mental health, and their rights to be respected, heard, appreciated and valued as the important people that they are !

I work with adults, teens & children and I'm also a clinical supervisor.
