Margaret Keith
ACCREDITED SENIOR THERAPIST:
WORKS WITH ADULTS & LATE TEENS
About me

Hello, I’m Margaret. I am a professionally qualified Counsellor, and an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I see therapy as a collaborative process so developing a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. As your counsellor, my role is not to provide you with answers, but instead to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment for self-exploration. With the increased awareness developed through our work together, comes the opportunity for more choice and the possibility for change and personal growth.

Clinical experience

With over 14 years’ experience in providing counselling to individuals with different ethnicity, religious and cultural backgrounds. I have gained a wealth of knowledge and practice of caring for others in a professional counselling capacity. I am committed to ongoing professional development and clinical supervision to enhance self-reflection, awareness and knowledge in my existing professional role.

There are times in our lives when we are confronted with situations that we are not sure how to deal with. I will provide a confidential space to talk in a safe environment without being judged and help you understand the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing.
I will support you not only to explore how your past may be impacting your present-day life, but also to look forward to a purposeful and meaningful future.

Your safety and wellbeing are my priority in therapy, and I follow professional standards, and the ethical framework set by my accredited professional organisation.
Qualifications
Currently studying for Accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) Standard Training.
(CPCAB) Level 6 Certificate in Counselling Supervision.
Foundation Degree in Arts – Counselling.
Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3 in Counselling.
Specialist interest and/or experience

I provide therapy for teens and adults for a range of issues, and I have a special interest in working with abuse, anger management, anxiety disorders (long-term anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety), Trauma and PTSD/c-PTSD counselling.
Clinical Approaches

My theoretical model of training is a Person-Centred Approach; however, I integrate other models of therapy such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR).
Operating interactively allows me to tailor approaches to your individual needs, fostering insight and curiosity for you to better understand yourself and navigate life with more positivity, purpose, and gratitude.

Alongside talking therapy, I can bring in other practices such as mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork. If suitable we can use creative approaches like drawing and working with imagery.

I offer face to face, online and phone sessions and work on a long- and short-term basis.
