About me

As a mature student I retrained as an Integrative Counsellor in 2018, I hold a 1st Class Bachelor of Science Degree in Counselling and Therapeutic Communications and a registered membership of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have been practising post qualification working with children and young people in the schools, charitable organisations and online, as well as working with adults face to face, telephone and online.

Specialist interest

Working from a trauma-informed perspective, I have a deep understanding of attachment  and the effects that an individual’s experiences have psychologically and physically.  With wisdom, intuition, and genuine empathy I work passionately and creatively, including psychoeducation to equip my clients with the resources they need to understand themselves and find solutions.

Clinical experience

I began my counselling journey in Secondary Schools working one to one with young people.  As an integrative counsellor I work from a person-centred approach with the adaptability to use other therapeutic approaches, such as Creative Therapy, Sand Tray, Music, Role Play, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and CBT.

I am experienced in working therapeutically both short-term and long-term with issues:  anxiety & depression, bereavement, suicidal ideation, trauma, self-harm, divorce, domestic abuse, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, coercion, sexuality, gender, anger, behavioural issues, eating distress, retirement and attachment.

Clinical approaches

The most important aspect of my practice is the relationship between myself and you, the client.  Creating a safe, approachable environment to ease the building of trust and understanding of one another and to help you feel comfortable enough to share and explore whatever you are experiencing.
