Terms and Conditions
TERMS OF ADMINISTRATION

Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing is registered to provide mental health services and works with independent mental health practitioners to deliver these services.

Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing does not operate a crisis or emergency mental health service.
If you feel unsafe, or at risk of harming yourself or others, you can:
• Contact your GP and request an urgent appointment
• Call NHS 111
• Attend any A&E department
• Call 999 for an ambulance -
Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing will not accept liability for any loss or damage to personal items or valuables as well as any

Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing has policies regarding complaints, confidentiality, and consent to share information, which are available upon request.

1. SELF PAYING CLIENTS
​
Initial appointment Payment: You are required to make payment at the point of booking for your initial appointment.
For all follow up appointments, payment is requested no later than the day of the appointment as follows:
​Monkseaton Clinic: You will be sent an invoice in advance containing a link to a secure online payments page for payment by debit/credit card, alternatively you can pay on the client portal on a secure online payments page for payment by debit/credit card.
​
Gosforth Clinic: You can pay on the day by cash or card in clinic, alternatively you can pay on the client portal on a secure online payments page for payment by debit/credit card.
​
Online Sessions: You will be sent an invoice in advance containing a link to a secure online payments page for payment by debit/credit card, alternatively you can pay on the client portal on a secure online payments page for payment by debit/credit card.
​
We accept most major debit/credit cards.

2. INSURED CLIENTS
​
2.1 Direct Settlement Scheme
​
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate insurance cover. Although we can support you with this, only your insurer can confirm your entitlement.
​
If your insurer operates a direct settlement scheme, Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing will invoice them directly. Pre-authorisation must be obtained in advance of treatment.
​
If your insurer does not pay the invoiced amount in full within 60 days, you will be notified by email. You will have 10 days to raise any queries. After this period, you will be invoiced for any remaining balance. A receipt will be provided on request.

2.2 No Direct Settlement Scheme
​
If your insurer does not offer direct settlement, or if you are unable to provide pre-authorisation details, you must pay for services on the day of your appointment, as per self-paying clients.
​
3. PAYMENT TERMS FOR ALL CLIENTS
​
If a third party or insurer has agreed to pay your account (in full or in part), any outstanding balance not covered by the third party or insurer will remain your responsibility and must be paid by you.
​
Clients are responsible for all outstanding payments for:
• Services where we do not bill insurers directly
• Any fees, charges, or excess amounts not covered by insurance
• Any services not covered under the agreed treatment plan
​
4. PAYMENT BY THIRD PARTIES
​
If your employer, company, or another third party agrees to pay for your treatment, written/email confirmation must be provided before your first appointment. This must state that payment will be made in full within 30 days of each appointment.
If payment is not made within 30 days of discharge, you will be notified of any outstanding balance. You will have 10 days to raise queries before an invoice is issued directly to you. A receipt will be provided on request.

5. CANCELLATION TERMS
​
If you cancel your appointment with fewer than 48 hours’ notice, you will be liable for the full appointment fee, regardless of any reason. No shows are also chargeable.
​
If you are late for your appointment, you will still be charged the full payment.
​
If payment for a late cancellation is not received,Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing reserves the right to cancel any future appointments. If payment continues to not be collected, a third-party debt recovery service may be instructed.

FINANCIAL AGREEMENT
​

I agree to pay for all services provided by Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing in accordance with the terms set out above.

If my treatment is covered by insurance, I authorise Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing to submit claims to my insurer on my behalf.

If a third party or insurer fails to cover any part of my account, I agree to pay the outstanding balance.

Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing reserves the right to assign unpaid debts to a third-party recovery service.

I understand that cancellation fees apply if less than 48 hours’ notice is given.

If payment is not made by the day of my appointment, I understand that Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing may cancel any future sessions until payment is made.

Please Note:
We accept most major debit/credit cards. Transaction fees may apply to business cards. Fees and charges may be varied without prior notice.
